The latest notification for the TNPSC Group 2 and 2A posts has been released on July 15, 2025.

1. Exam dates and application

• Notification Release Date: July 15, 2025.
• Application Starts: July 15, 2025.
• Last Date to Apply: August 13, 2025 (11:59 pm).
• Preliminary Exam Date: September 28, 2025.
• Application Correction Dates: August 18 to August 20, 2025. 

2. Eligibility criteria

Eligibility requires a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, with specific requirements for certain positions. The minimum age is 18, with varying upper age limits depending on the category and post, and age relaxation for reserved categories. Proficiency in Tamil is also mandatory. 

3. Vacancies

The TNPSC Group 2 2025 notification lists a total of 645 vacancies, encompassing both Group 2 (interview) and Group 2A (non-interview) posts. There are 50 vacancies for Group 2 posts and 595 for Group 2A posts. 

4. Selection process

The selection process differs for Group 2 (Interview Posts) and Group 2A (Non-Interview Posts). Group 2 involves a Preliminary Exam, a Main Written Exam, and an Interview. Group 2A requires a single Written Examination. Candidates must qualify in each stage to proceed. 

5. Exam pattern

The Preliminary Examination is objective type with 300 marks over 3 hours, covering General Studies and General English/General Tamil. The Main Examination for Group 2 includes General Studies and Aptitude, while for Group 2A, it’s a descriptive exam on topics like current events and government programs. 

6. Salary

The salary for TNPSC Group 2 posts ranges from Rs. 37,200 to Rs. 117,600 monthly, including basic pay, grade pay, and allowances.
